Post-GDC

Friday, March 19th, 2010

The job market is not quite what I thought. Especially in the gaming industry. Networking is terribly difficult, and most companies are either not looking for sound people or require certain amounts of experience in the industry that I simply don’t have (as in time in the industry).

I’ve contacted and heard back form a few people, and I am trying to remain optimistic. I have the confidence and the skills to get a job doing sound/music for any type of visual media, I just need to get into the market.

Check out my friend Rick Livingston’s reel, for which I made the music.

Pre-GDC

Gearing up for GDC next week. I have a meeting scheduled with Angela Baker from Insomniac Games, for which I am indescribably excited. I’m hoping to meet and network with a (large) handful of other people in the gaming industry. I’ll most likely report during the conference and then do a post-mortem for myself.
